ur ladies fought tooth and nail in their away loss to Sevenoaks at the weekend in what was their BEST outing this season.
It was a massive performance from the get go, feeling really confident with a strong warm up and making an attacking impact from the whistle, dominating the scrums and attacking possession.
Whilst most of the first half was spent in the middle of the pitch and never in our own 22, we battled to the try line and received a penalty right in front of the posts. It was then the turn of the forwards to crash forward and break the defence. A quick ruck ball fed it out to the backs making for a textbook run for Ella Vawer to score her first try since joining the ladies. We couldn't be prouder of her ??
HT came shortly after on what was a cold, miserable, mud and sand filled day determined to increase the lead in the second half.
We started strong again through penalties, scrums and line outs but as much as things went well, likewise did tired bodies start to injure and we got pinned back within in our own 22.
Not letting the side down, we fought every attacking line from the oppo for what felt like 10 to 15mins defending and defending the try and conversion that inevitably came.
The ladies should be so proud of themselves in what was a tremendous performance, just a shame the win didn't come with it.
Congratulations to Player of the Match from the oppo - Emma McGreivy ✨
Forward of the Match: Sarah Cotterell ??
Back of the Match: Ella Vawer ?
