3. Parents and spectators


  • Recognise the rugby core values;

  • Teamwork – Respect – Enjoyment – Discipline – Sportsmanship

  • Be supportive but do so in a positive way recognising that constant noise does not help the young player

  • Be courteous to all and applaud good play

  • Show respect for officials, coaches and players both on and off the field of play; do not verbally abuse officials, they are just volunteers

  • Children and young players are playing for their enjoyment. Encourage this and do not criticise from the touch line

  • Enjoy the day yourselves and transmit this to the players

  • Do not force your children to play

  • Refrain from bad language and do not stray onto the field of play at any time

  • Be a positive role model for the squad

  • Do not do anything that is likely to offend by way of insult, humiliation or discrimination

  • Reject cheating, racism, discrimination and drugs. Recognise that it is illegal for players under 18 to drink alcohol or for those under 16 to smoke

  • Remember that everyone at the club are volunteers from the coaches through to those working in the clubhouse. Offer support and volunteer where you are able

  • Support TWRFC through the youth section but also involve yourselves with the seniors #oneTWRFC
