Welcome to TWRFC

A very warm welcome to Tunbridge Wells Rugby club.

Social Media

You can follow the latest club news at: Facebook – Twitter – Instagram

Season/Training

The 23/24 season starts on Sunday September 3rd. With (weather permitting) youth training on Sunday mornings at St Marks’ Recreation Ground (the home of TWRFC). You head-coach will keep you updated via spond.

Training and fixtures are typically on Sunday mornings at St Marks; but there’s a little movement in venue and timing as we try to accommodate everybody. These are published each week via spond, and here https://twrfc.com/youth/pitch-allocations.

Spond/Admin

We use Spond for nearly all our admin, and communications to members; spond is accessible via the web, and we would also recommend installing this spond smart-phone app. This is how your age group head-coach will communicate the timing of training and fixtures. You have automatically been added to the right group based on the selection you made during sign-on.

Membership Fees

TWRFC membership is annual, this covers all training costs, as well as festivals. More details can be found on the membership page

You will shortly receive a payment request… new members are very welcome to a couple of trial sessions before committing if that applies to you please ignore the payment request until those are complete.

Our policy is that nobody should be denied rugby through financial circumstances, if that’s the case please contact me in confidence.

Code of Conduct

The club code of code of conduct for youth members and spectators can be found here. We ask that both kids and parents adhere to it whilst participating in activities with Tunbridge Wells RFC.

RFU Affiliation

New age-grade (children) players need not only join spond, but also to affiliate themselves on the RFU Game Management System GMS. This is something required of us by the RFU. There’s no cost involved.

Please could you complete age-grade affiliation for each playing child.
TWRFC landing page on GMS. https://twrfc.com/gms

The RFU have also produced a couple of guides:
Guide – Renew Age-Grade Affiliation

Guide – New Age-Grade Affiliation

Safeguarding

The club’s safeguarding officer is Dawn Stanford – you can reach her in the case of any concerns at safeguarding@twrfc.com. The club’s safeguarding policy is here.

Playing Kit

Players representing the club at tournaments and matches will require a playing top. Most U6s do tend to wear playing kit, but this is entirely optional.

TWRFC kit is available from our kit supplier Akuma. https://akumashops.com/twrfc/shop. We do tend to stock some playing shirts and socks at the club which are available from the cafe on-site.

Gumshields

We ask that all players participating in contact rugby (U9s+) wear a gumshield. There are many boil-and-fit brands available online, we also have some emergency ones on sale in the cafe.

Senior Matches

The first team typically play on Saturday’s and generally attract a good crowd (kids go free). Follow social media/website for fixture updates.
