TWRFC host Girls Rugby Camp with World Cup Winners

The TWRFC Girls with their heroes

Tunbridge Wells RFC Ladies section played host to the Kent Burford Academy Camp on Monday 20th August with over 60 girls coming from all over the south & east to enjoy an extra special training session learning from Rachael Burford (centre – 79 caps) and her fellow 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup Winners, Danielle ‘Nolli’ Waterman (fullback – 82 caps), Katy Daley-Mclean (flyhalf – 99 caps) & Rochelle ‘Rocky’ Clark (prop – 137 caps (most capped front row in the world – male or female!)).

They were taught how to prepare like a professional, warm-up drills specific for rugby, effective kicking, ball handling and evasion skills, as well as enjoying some one-to-one time and a group Q&A.

This was an amazing day and the looks on the girls faces afterwards made all the organisation and promotion worth every second.

If you have a daughter who is interested in playing rugby, the season starts Sunday September 2nd at our St Marks Ground on Frant Road.
